Important for the translation of marriage papers

 

We are glad, that you have found somebody with the help of us. And we are really happy that you have serious intentions and face the most beautiful decision of your life: the marriage.

 

But there is a lot of paperwork ahead. You have to see to your papers. And there is more to it than that: If you marry a woman from abroad, her papers must be translated into German. Very important: your papers should be translated by an in Germany licensed translator.

 

German public authorities accept only translations of papers and documents in this case the marriage papers that are made by translators with the title of “publicly appointed and affidavit” and that are registered in the local courts.

If you intend to get married in Germany (our translations in German are also accepted in such countries as Denmark and Belgium. Please ask about it in a local civil registry office) then we need the following from you in order to do the translations:

 

Please send the papers that should be translated only in original and by certified mail to our address. Please let us know your name, your address and your phone number, your member number as well as your ID number, if you are a member of the Internetkontakte and the origin country of your woman.

Our tip! If you intend to get married and if you tell your woman what papers she should provide, please ask her to read the papers thoroughly before she leaves the authorities’ building. It happens now and again, that the papers contain errors. And it is of course annoying to order the papers once again and to lose your time, if you are so far away from you home country. Please keep it in mind. 

 

If you future wife is divorced and you need to provide the court decision about this divorce, please pay attention to the fact, that the decision should become legal and contain the date if this legalisation. It is very important that the papers of a divorced lady are in perfect order.
